Derek is a tax attorney and the founder of Jensen Estate Law in North Seattle, specializing in federal and state tax planning, estate law, business law, elder law, and asset protection. With over 25 years of experience, Derek is a trusted advisor dedicated to tailoring plans that address his clients’ unique needs and concerns. A 1994 graduate of the University of Montana School of Law and a 2003 recipient of a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Washington, Derek enjoys helping families secure their futures. He lives in Seattle with his wife and three daughters and spends his free time hiking or cheering on Washington Husky Football.

Anita focuses on estate planning, probate, and trust administration, helping clients make informed decisions while balancing tax implications and family needs. She values building relationships, listening to concerns, and finding thoughtful solutions, particularly during the challenges of losing a loved one.  Anita earned her BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 2001 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seattle University School of Law in 2006. She is a member of the Washington State Bar’s Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section, an active community member, and a frequent volunteer at Seattle Public Schools.

Emily focuses on estate administration at Jensen Estate Law, helping families navigate probate, trust administration, and small estates with care and understanding. A former elementary school teacher, she brings flexibility and problem-solving skills to her role, viewing each case as a unique puzzle to solve. With a degree in Language, Literacy, and Cultural Studies from Western Washington University, Emily values the individuality of every client and situation. Deeply connected to her Danish heritage, she is an active member of the Northwest Danish Association, coordinating cultural events and fostering community. Outside of work, Emily enjoys weekly board game nights and brings a unique perspective and dedication to supporting both clients and the Jensen Estate Law team.

Having grown up around the firm her father founded, Taylor has a deep connection to its mission and brings a problem-solving mindset to her work. A graduate of the University of Portland with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Philosophy, she ensures thoughtful solutions for clients navigating major life decisions.
